BIOGRAPHY

The artist, Lane Scott, has worked in photography for over 25 years, while at the same time, working in his other chosen profession, public education. A man of many talents, Lane has a Bachelor of Music Education degree, a Master of Education in Industrial Technology degree and several computer education certifications. During his forty plus years in education, Lane has taught all grades from kindergarten through graduate college level and adult education. Lane is recently retired from the position of Technology Director for the Coupland Independent School District. He now resides in Cedar Park , Texas .

He has studied photography under Dr. Bill Leavitt in Texas, The Rocky Mountain School of Photography, and John and Barbara Gerlach of Montana and Michigan. As an avid outdoorsman, he has managed to combine his love of nature with a love of creativity by specializing in nature photography. His photographic subjects include mountains, seashores, trees, flowers, animals, insects, old buildings, windmills, farm implements, and almost anything outdoors. He now takes color and black and white photographs with a digital camera, and produces and mats them. His work is available at area arts and crafts shows, by mail order, and on his web site.

During the summer months, Lane is in residence in Lake City, Colorado, where he has many opportunities to take pictures of the "town bears" as well as the outstanding scenery for which Colorado is famous.
